San Jose, CA (December 11, 2020) – Abbott, Stringham & Lynch (ASL) is honored to be named one of America’s Top Recommended Tax and Accounting Firms by Forbes for the second year in a row.
In December 2020, Forbes released their findings after partnering with market research company, Statista, to identify a list of the most recommended firms for tax and accounting services in the US. Their methodology entailed collecting and reviewing survey responses from tax and accounting professionals (peers) and the finance departments of companies (clients). Peers were asked to indicate up to ten tax/accounting firms they would recommend if their company were not able to take on a client for a certain assignment or question. Clients were asked to name up to ten tax/accounting firms they would recommend based on their professional experience during the last three years. (more…)

San Jose, CA (January 7, 2020) – Abbott, Stringham & Lynch (ASL), one of the largest local CPA firms in Silicon Valley, is pleased to announce that Carol Wagner, CPA has been elected managing partner, effective January 1, 2020. She succeeds Ray Scheaffer, CPA who served in the role for 15 years. Carol is ASL’s sixth managing partner since the firm’s inception in 1977, and the second woman managing partner. In December 2019, Forbes released their findings after partnering with market research company, Statista, to identify a list of the most recommended firms for tax and accounting services in the US. Their methodology entailed collecting and reviewing 1,800 survey responses from CPAs, enrolled agents, tax lawyers, accountants and CFOs. The timing of the survey comes after the first tax season with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and its widespread changes.
ASL was recommended among a list of 202 firms for tax services; and among 115 firms for accounting services.

San Jose, CA August 16, 2016 — we are pleased to announce that Jyothi Chillara and Naila Sharifova of Abbott, Stringham & Lynch have successfully earned the IBFD-AG Advanced Professional Certificate in International Corporate Taxation. Jointly created by Allinial Global and IBFD, one of the world’s foremost authorities on international taxation, this rigorous program allows participants to differentiate themselves by becoming certified experts in international taxation.
On their way to certification, program participants earn 100 CPE credits and engage in a combination of self-study courses and live webcasts, followed by a final three-day training event. Course materials focus on three central components: fundamentals of international taxation, corporate international tax structuring, and treaty and transfer pricing aspects of international tax planning. In order to complete the certification process, participants must pass an assessment during each stage of the program, as well as a two-hour final exam. (more…)
